“If a fellow is naked and destitute of daily food and one of you says to them, ‘depart in peace, be warmed and filled’, yet does not give them those things which they need, what does it profit. Therefore faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” (James 2: 15-17)

Towards September 2022 we had a case of a 3 year old Junior Nevhulamba from Masisi clinic, who could not walk due to delayed development. When the family came to us, they were only asking for a wheelchair for the toddler. Thanks to our Carer Evah Ramashala, a physiotherapist who advised that with proper assistive therapy and mobility device, Junior still has a chance to walk.

We secured an appointment with Occupational Therapy department in Donald Fraser hospital to have Junior evaluated, and indeed, the medical report indicated that Junior could walk if he could receive a rollator. We obtained a rollator for Junior, and after three months of rollator training, Junior could indeed walk, and the family was very grateful for the help we have provided.
